Nicky studied for her Masters Degree in Music Performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, specialising on flute and piccolo, studying under Jonathan Burgess of the Orchestra of the Welsh National Opera. 

 

She was awarded 2nd place in the International Soloist Competition at the Kent Competitive Festival (2002), was a finalist in the Russell Shepherd Instrumentalists Solo Competition (2009) and has competed with numerous bands including Brides of Rain, winner of the Masses Competition (2012). 

 

Nicky has worked with local composer Diane Wilks on a number of recording projects and performed at the International Composers Festival in Bexhill (2022). She has also recorded for the band Bellerphon (2018), for Jacob Bride, Composer, for various projects (2017/18) and with Maidstone Wind Symphony (2015) for R Smith and SPS sample CD, demonstrating solo flute with wind orchestra.
